Es ist mittlerweile kein grosses Geheimnis, dass ich Turbans liebe! Für mich ein absolutes Muss in den kalten Tagen - passend zur momentanen Saison und unentbehrlich bei "Bad Hair Days". Per Zufall habe ich mit einem Turbanlook angefangen und mich total verliebt - leicht gemacht und trotzdem sehr stylisch. Mag sein, dass ich hier zu spät für diesen Trend bin aber ganz ehrlich gesagt, ist mir das nicht wichtig - entweder es passt für mich oder gar nicht. 

Diesen tollen LSD habe ich erst vor kurzem ergattert und finde ihn für den Herbst perfekt. Für den einen oder anderen mag dies eher ein Pulli sein aber für kleine Frauen, wie ich müssen nicht nur auf den Schnitt achten, sondern auch auf die Länge und diese passt super, wie ihr sehen könnt oder?

Autum Blues.. Und schon wieder ist es Herbst!

It was Summer like...yesterday and now I'm freezing like crazy and oh yeah, I'm sick, too! Currently sipping tea and cuddling while writing this. Where do I start... So many things happened and are still happening and to be honest it is all chaotic at times but I have never felt so good! I am always in control of things but sometimes it is quite nice to let "loose". More and more I am getting where I need to be - workwise, relationshipwise and by being me. Some things will change with my Blog (and my life) and I am quite excited because change is always good - well, to me it is. Be excited for more, I am too! Muaah, Leisy

Es war gerade doch noch Sommer... und jetzt friere ich mir einen ab und ja, krank bin ich auch! Während ich das hier schreibe, trinke ich genüsslich meinen Tee und kuschle mich in meine Decke ein. Wo soll ich jetzt bloss anfangen... Vieles ist bereits passiert und passiert immer noch und manchmal ist es recht chaotisch aber ich fühlte mich nie besser. Ich bin immer sehr kontrolliert aber manchmal tut es gut das Zepter mal "abzugeben". Mehr und mehr komme ich meinen Zielen näher - was die Arbeit angeht, meine Beziehung und vor allem beim Ich-Selbstsein. Einiges wird sich noch mit meinem Blog ändern (und meinem Leben) aber ich bin recht aufgeregt (im guten Sinne), denn Veränderung bedeutet für mich persönlich immer etwas Gutes. "Musik ist der Weg zu der Seele"? - Ich kann hier nicht widersprechen. Ein Lied kann die Laune so schnell verändern - es kann dich traurig oder glücklich machen, dich begeistern oder total aufgedreht machen, du kannst dich damit sexy fühlen (ja, richtig gelesen) und auch viele andere Stimmungen hervorrufen. Da ich jeden Tag Musik höre, sind mir qualitativ gute Kopfhörer sehr wichtig. Travel Diary: Costa Rica (San Jose, Puerto Viejo, Tortuguero, etc.)

Travelling through Costa Rica was such an eye-opener! This trip made me realise even more what I want in life and what's important to me when it comes to living. You guys already now that I love travelling - I especially enjoy getting to know the citizens and the lifestyles of certain countries. My trip to CR was a gift from me to me - I like to spoil myself from time to time. I don't travel to see perfect places or nice beaches and luxury but to learn from other cultures, get to know new countries and their traditions and return home with great memories and new experiences! Costa Rica felt a lot like home (Dominican Republic/Haiti) but just an improved version of it. Well, that's my opinion. I stayed at the "Spanish by the Sea Hostel" in Puerto Viejo. From there I made some excursions and saw quite a lot of things of Costa Rica. I really had an amazing time and even though everything wasn't always perfect - I always tried to stay positive and guess what? It worked! I was in such a great mood and so positive and I have to admit that life is so much easier with a positive mind.

Die Reise durch Costa Rica war für mich ein echter Augenöffner! Mit diesem Trip realisierte ich sogar mehr, was ich vom Leben will und was mir tatsächlich wichtig ist, wenn es um das Leben selbst geht. Ihr wisst bereits, dass ich reisen liebe - ich geniesse es vor allem, die Landsleute in den jeweiligen Ländern und deren Lebensweisen kennenzulernen. Diese Reise war ein Geschenk von mir an mich selbst - ja manchmal gönne ich mir hin und wieder was. Ich reise nicht um perfekte Plätze oder schöne Strände zu sehen und Luxus, sondern um von anderen Kulturen zu lernen, andere Länder kennenzulernen und deren Traditionen. Mein Ziel ist es nach Hause mit tollen Erinnerungen und Erfahrungen zurückzukehren! Costa Rica hat sich wie Zuhause (Dominikanische Republik/Haiti) angefühlt - nur etwas fortgeschrittener würde ich sagen. Dies ist aber auch nur meine Meinung. Meine längste Unterkunft war in das "Spanish by the Sea Hostel" in Puerto Viejo. Von dort aus unternahm ich einige Ausflüge und habe daher recht viel von Costa Rica sehen können. Ich hatte eine tolle Zeit dort und auch wenn nicht alles perfekt klappte, versuchte ich stets positiv zu bleiben und ratet mal? Es hat geklappt! Ich hatte eine super Laune und war so positiv eingestellt und ich muss echt zugeben mit einer positiven Denkweise lässt es sich viel leichter Leben.

SAN JOSE / PUERTO VIEJO

After a 13h flight I arrived in San Jose in the late evening. San Jose is Costa Rica's capital city and to be honest I didn't spend a lot of time there as it isn't a nice city in my opinion and my goal was to reach Puerto Viejo as soon as possible. But I was shopping in San Jose on my last day and I have to admit they have quite nice shops there. I went to Puerto Viejo by bus and it took me about 5 hours to get to caribbean side of the country but it was totally worth it. Puerto Viejo is such a cute village with cool reggae vibes and great beaches to surf! Nice tasty food, laid-back people and cool parties make this place unforgettable.

Nach einem 13-stündigen Flug kam ich abends in San Jose, Costa Rica's Hauptstadt, an.Viel Zeit habe ich dort nicht verbracht, denn mein Ziel war es, so schnell wie möglich in Puerto Viejo anzukommen. Aber zum Shoppen ist San Jose echt nicht schlecht aber mehr gibt es von meiner Seite nicht zu sagen. Am nächsten Tag ging es am Morgen nach Puerto Viejo - angekommen bin ich dort nach einer abenteuerlichen 5-stündigen Fahrt. Puerto Viejo liegt an der karibischen Küste von Costa Rica und ist meiner Meinung nach einen Besuch wert. Ein kleines Dorf mit tollen Reggae-Vibes und tolle Strände zum Surfen! Sehr leckeres Essen, lässige Leute und coole Partys machen diesen Ort unvergesslich.

HOTEL

In Puerto Viejo I stayed at "Spanish by the Sea Hostel" where I also took some Spanish lessons in order to improve my rusty Spanish! The hostel was OK I guess but I just think I had bad luck with my room. But hey I did the best of it. I did some excursions to the national park in Cahuita, also visiting Tortuguero was amazing and our Hotel in Tortuguero "Hotel Tortuguero Natural" was nothing fancy but nice and comfortable. Don't expect to much, that how you'll get dissapointed. I know how standards are in Latin American countries, so a lot of things weren't new to me or a surprise. If you are person who wants the fancy & luxury life you might need to double-check if the caribbean side of CR is something for you. The Pacific coast might be the right place for you - it's more touristic and a bit more "high standard" when it comes to hotels, etc.

In Puerto Viejo übernachtete ich ein Hostel namens "Spanisch by the Sea", wo ich auch einige Spanischstunden nahm um mein eingerostetes Spanisch zu verbessern. Das Hotel war OK - ich hatte nicht sonderlich viel erwartet aber ich denke, ich hatte einfach Pech mit meinem Zimmer. Ich habe einfach das Beste daraus gemacht - denn bei einigen Ausflügen, konnte ich noch tolle Unterkünfte buchen. Ich war im Nationalpark in Cahuita (sehr zu empfehlen) und war auch in Tortuguero (eine kleine schöne Insel, die im Naturschutzgebiet liegt. Dort kann man viele Tiere und Pflanzen sehen, die sonst nirgends auf Costa Rica zu sehen sind oder gar wachsen). Wenn man eine Person ist, die viel Wert auf Luxus und ausgefallene Suiten steht, ist Puerto Viejo möglicherweise nicht der richtige Ort. An der karibischen Küste wohnen sehr viel Einheimische und alles ist recht einfach aber genau das, hat mich so sehr gefesselt. Möchte man aber mehr das touristische CR erleben, wäre eine Reise an der pazifischen Küste die bessere Wahl.

PEOPLE // MENSCHEN

The "Ticos" (this is how you call people from Costa Rica) are super nice and laid-back people. Especially in Puerto Viejo with all this reggae music and their rastas - everything seem so relaxed. You can also call Puerto Viejo "little Jamaica" for those who want a better comparison. I felt very welcomed there and no one ever bothered me (even their flirt attemps were super cute and not pushy at all).

Die "Ticos" (so nennt man die Menschen von Costa Rica) sind super liebe und lässige Leute. Vor allem in Puerto Viejo bekommt man das Gefühl in "Klein-Jamaika" zu sein, da sehr viele Rastas rumlaufen und überall Reggae-Musik gespielt wird. Ich habe mich dort sehr wohl gefühlt und keiner hat mich je belästigt (selbst deren Anmachen, waren eher süss und überhaupt nicht aufdringlich).

FOOD // ESSEN

Rice and beans, fried fish and meat, plantains and the best smoothies ever! Everything can be found there. Their food is quite similar to other Latin American countries but I have to say it does taste different but very good. The vegan trend is definitely there and for vegans it's a great place be (at least that's what I've learnt in Puerto Viejo). You can eat healthy there but I choose to eat what I want and when I wanted to, so yes I gained some pounds but I don't regret nothing!

Reis und Bohnen, frittierter Fisch und Fleisch, Kochbananen und die besten Smoothies überhaupt! Man findeet so gut, wie alles dort. Das Essen gleicht anderen lateinamerikanischen Ländern, schmeckt jedoch anders - dennoch sehr gut. Der vegane Lifestyle ist doch auch sehr weit verbreitet, daher ein toller Ort für Veganer - zumindest hatte ich in Puerto Viejo das Gefühl. Man kann dort gesund essen aber ich habe mich dafür entschieden das zu essen, worauf ich Lust hatte und das immer und zu jeder Zeit. Daher habe einige Pfunde zugenommen aber ich bereue nichts!

BEACHES & ACTIVITIES // STRÄNDE & AKTIVITÄTEN

Costa Rica's beaches are beautiful and its landscapes are breathtaking! I haven't seen so much nature in a long time and therefore it was very nice to see and to experience all of this. Most beaches are perfect to surf through - big waves and clear water. I canoed once and it was very nice - a nice experience though the national park. You can also take some dancing classes like "Salsa" or Spanish classes of course.

Costa Rica's Strände sind wunderschön und die Landschaften atemberaubend! Es ist sehr lange her, dass ich so eine schöne Natur bewundern konnte und diese Erfahrung war super. Viele Strände eignen sich perfekt zum Surfen - grosse Wellen und klares Wasser. Ich bin selbst mal Kanu gefahren im Nationalpark, was eine tolle Sache war - ich kann es nur jedem empfehlen. Natürlich kann man auch an typischen Aktivitäten teilnehmen, wie Tanzkurze (Salsa, etc.) oder Spanischunterricht nehmen.

I had a great time in CR and I will definitely go back there again. Next time I think I'm going to travel with a backpack through Latin America or the Caribbean! Wait for it. Hey Muffins! Sharing this cute but simple look with you today. As you already know I love bodycon dresses but also the side-cut-pieces, so once my little sister saw this one she knew it was made for me. I wanted to create a soft tone look with a little pop of color.  Keeping the focus on my dress so I didn't add accessories to this look, besides my glasses and rings (which I wear everyday). Hey Muffins! Heute teile ich dieses süsse aber einfache Outfit mit euch. Wie ihr bereits wisst liebe ich Bodycon-Kleider aber auch die "Seitenschnitte" haben es mir angetan. Als meine kleine Schwester dieses Kleid sah, wusste sie, dass es für mich gemacht war. Ich wollte einen Look mit soften Tönen und einen Hauch Farbe kreieren. Die Aufmerksamkeit gebührt nur meinem Kleid, daher habe ich kaum Accessoires getragen ausser meine Ray-Ban-Brille und meine Ringe, die ich immer jeden Tag trage. Right now I am sitting in a restaurant called "Soda Lidia's" in Costa Rica. Well, in Puerto Viejo to be exact! You cannot imagine how hard it is for me to write English or German as I have been speaking & writing Spanish since I have got here. Everything reminds me of my hometown and so many childhood memories are coming up... Fighting with some tears every day as I am thinking about how life would be if we have stayed in the Dominican Republic. How everything would have turned out.. So many thoughts right now! Well, let me stop here as I am getting quite emotional and I do not want people to feel uncomfortable or to even think that I am not happy to be here because I absolutely am! While I am going to enjoy my huge and delicious fish, take your time to enjoy those pics which were shot before my trip. Sharon is doing a great job with the pictures, right? She is truly amazing. Ich sitze jetzt gerade in einem karibischen Restaurant, namens "Soda Lidia's" in Costa Rica. Oder besser gesagt in Puerto Viejo! Du kannst dir nicht vorstellen, wie schwer es mir fällt Deutsch oder Englisch zu schreiben, da ich seit ich hier angekommen bin nur Spanisch rede oder schreibe. Alles erinnert mich an meinen Heimatort und viele Kindheitserinnerungen kommen hoch... Dauernd kämpfe ich  mit den Tränen und denke darüber nach, wie das Leben sein würde, wenn wir nur in der Dominikanischen Republik geblieben wären. Wie sich alles entwickelt hätte... So viele Gedanken momentan! Nun, ich höre nun mal auf mir solche Gedanken zu machen, denn ich werde recht emotional, wenn ich an solche Dinge denke. Ich möchte auch nicht, dass sich die Menschen um mich rum unwohl fühlen oder denke, dass ich unglücklich bin hier zu sein, denn das bin ich absolut nicht - Ich bin sehr glücklich hier sein zu können! Detox Your Life: Healthy Living & Social Media

You may know that I'm trying to maintain a healthier lifestyle. However, this lifestyle contains more than just healthy food or exercising - it's the whole process itself of changing my life to the better! To become a better, healthier and happier person. 

Vielleicht hast du bereits mitbekommen, dass ich versuche ein gesünderes Leben zu führen. Ein gesünderes Leben beinhaltet mehr als nur gesundes Essen oder Sport - es geht eher um den ganzen Prozess das Leben zum Besseren zu ändern. Um ein besserer, gesünderer und glücklicherer Mensch zu werden.

 

Nowadays people associate happiness with material "needs", their "image" on social media and money. I do unterstand that society makes it seem that everything is about money and showing off your "Oh-Sooo-Amazing" lifes is more important than personality and kindness... In my opinion, social media and celebrities are taken way too seriously!

Ein gesünderes Leben beinhaltet mehr als nur gesundes Essen oder Sport - es geht eher um den ganzen Prozess das Leben zum Besseren zu ändern. Um ein besserer, gesünderer und glücklicherer Mensch zu werden. Heutzutage assozieren wir Glück mit materiellem Bedarf, das "Image" auf sozialen Plattformen oder Geld. Ich verstehe durchaus, dass die Gesellschaft dir weiss machen will, dass sich alles um Geld dreht und dass du dein "Ach-so-tolles" Leben online zeigen musst - all das ist scheinbar wichtiger als Persönlichkeit und Höflichkeit.... Meiner Meinung nach, nehmen wir soziale Plattformen und Stars viel zu wichtig!

It seems like we are a such judgmental society and we feel to tell the world what we think, even though we know our words might hurt someone else really bad. I'm a pretty direct person and actually I really couldn't care less about a lot of people and their opinion, however, I do believe that it's OK to keep your mouth shut sometimes and let your thoughts just be only that: THOUGHTS! Be honest, be direct but don't be mean. My change contains: to be at peace with myself and surroundings, spending more time with my loved ones, to fulfil my dreams, eating well, exercising - in no particular order! Es scheint als wären wir in einer solchen voreingenommenen Gesellschaft und wir haben stets das Gefühl,  unsere Gedanken und Meinungen preisgeben zu müssen, obwohl uns bewusst ist, dass es jemand sehr verletzen könnte. Ich persönlich bin ein recht direkter Mensch und eigentlich kümmern mich viele Menschen und deren Meinung auch nicht ABER ich glaube durchaus, dass Gedanken manchmal genau das auch bleiben sollen: GEDANKEN. Jeder muss mal lernen die Klappe zu halten, denn man muss nicht immer alles aussprechen. Sei ehrlich, direkt aber nicht gemein. Meine Veränderung sollen Folgendes mit sich bringen: Im Reinen mit mir und meinem Umfeld sein, mehr Zeit mit meinen Lieben verbringen, meine Träume erfüllen, gut essen, Sport machen - Reihenfolge ist nicht nach Wichtigkeit geordnet!
